Bartın University Central Research Laboratory Application and Research Center (BUMLAB) is started its activities in October 2014 with the project supported by the Ministry of Development (State Planning Organization) to establish a research, education and test center that incorporates modern technology devices and to support scientific studies and Research&Development activities to be carried out in our universities, public institutions and the private sector.

BUMLAB, which is officially structured to perform the analyses at nationally and internationally accepted quality standards and provides services to the analysis demands of other universities, public and private sectors, as well as the university personnel with its existing infrastructure, continues to expand and renew its laboratory infrastructure with keeping the priorities of our region and country. For this purpose, the test-analysis demands of sectors such as iron-steel, polymer, construction, machinery, ceramics, textile, food, medicine, chemistry, mining, paint, electronics, mechatronics, environment and energy are met.

Our laboratory serves as an administrative and two laboratory buildings on the Bartın University Kutlubey campus. There are 3 administrative offices, 5 offices, 10 laboratories, 1meeting room, 1 warehouse, 2 system rooms in the central laboratory buildings.

There are Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Laboratory, Spectroscopy Laboratory, Thermal Analysis Laboratory, Characterization Laboratory, Thin Film Laboratory, Polymer Laboratory, Mechanical Test Laboratory, 3-D Design Laboratory, Metallography Laboratory and Cancer Research Laboratory in our Central Research Laboratory. All of our laboratories are designed to supply the needs of our researchers with advanced technological devices.
